Acer Aspire S13

The Acer Aspire S13 is not the slimmest of all notebooks but it performs quite well and the price can swing a lot of users to buy it. The entry level will cost as much as $600. There is another model that is priced at $750. This notebook comes in two colors Obsidian Black and Pearl White. The Obsidian black is the color of the lower models, while the color of it’s top of the line model  is Pearl White. What is mentioned here is the high end model that cost $1000 and has the following configurations: The top of the line model comes with a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7-6500u ( dual-core, 4MB cache, up to 3.1 GHz with Turbo Boost ). For Graphics purposes it has an installed Intel HD Graphics 520. It has 8GB of LPDDR3 SDRAM. The screen is a 13.3 inch 1920 x 1080 anti-glare LED-backlit IPS touchscreen display It has speaker grills that are facing downwards. The Acer Aspire S13 has 512GB SSD. It has a 45 Wh battery. The Operation System is Windows 10 and it has Windows Office 365. There are several ports 2 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 3.1 Type-C, HDMI, SD card reader, and headphone/microphone jack. For connectivity purposes, It uses a 802.11ac WI-FI and it comes with a 2x2 Mu-MIMO technology ( Dual Band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz ) plus Bluetooth 4.0. The camera is a 720p webcam. It weighs 3 pounds. The size of this notebook is 12.87 x 8.98 x 0.57 inches.
By design you cannot say it is a high end notebook. It looks like a budget laptop. Everyone likes the well-polished aluminum type. This is probably because of the ridged texture of the plastic lid. It has very thin pinstripes that you will not notice. The engraved texture that’s on this notebook gives you more grip on it.  I personally do not believe that the coating is made of aluminum but it is unwrinkled and even. The other parts of this notebook are nice. The sides have been nicely tapered off. Having the sides tapered allows the sound to be clearly heard. The keyboard and touchpad are nice to work with. The best feature in this notebook is it’s 13.3 matte touchscreen. Use this notebook anywhere and there won’t be any reflection. There may be times that you might have to increase it’s brightness. It has the BlueShield Technology. This is good because you won’t strain your eyes. The matte screen will assure you that you won’t have fingerprint stains on it.
The Acer Aspire S13 is really fast because of it’s storage and the Core i7 processor it uses. You can stream videos from any service providers like Google or Netflix and there won’t be any problem. Webpages and Applications will load up quickly. The manufacturer says that the battery life will last for 13 hours. It does not, the battery life is good for about  8 hours. In the 3D Mark: Cloud test it scored 5,885; Sky Diver 3,569, Fire Strike; 816. Using the Cinebench CPU test the Acer Aspire S13 scored 31cb; Graphics 41.43 fps. In the PC Mark 8 Home test this notebook had a score 2,771. In the Geekbench 3 Single Core test the Acer Aspire S13 had a score of 3,247. In the Multi-Core test the score was 6,884.  The tests show that the Acer Aspire S13 did considerably well. Acer did cut down on the design but I believe what stands out here is it’s performance.  Since this notebook was released in 2016, maybe the price is lower now. Why not find out if you can get it at a bargain.
