Lenovo Thinkpad x260
The Thinkpad x260
is a business laptop that is rather thin. This isn’t t the thinnest laptop
available in the market, but this is a powerful laptop. This laptop is so
useful if you are traveling. It is quite handy and can do a lot of work. Being
a lightweight makes it easy for anyone to bring this laptop any place. The
laptop mentioned here is a middle level one. There are three types of Lenovo
Thinkpad x260. The first one is the Core
i3 version. The second is the Core i5 version and lastly the Core i7 version.
Mentioned here is the Core i5 version. Here are the following specifications.
It has an Intel Core i5-6300u. The operating system is Windows 10 Pro. The RAM
is 8GB and can be upgraded to 16B. It has a 256 SSD Hard Drive. The display
size is 12.5 inches. It has a resolution of 1366x768. This laptop uses an Intel HD Graphics 520 card. The video
memory is 128MB. The W-FI has a 802.11 b/g/n/ac configuration. And the model is
a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260. It uses a Bluetooth 4.1. The touchpad size
is 3.4 x2.1 inches. This laptop has several ports. The USB 3.0 has 3 ports.
There is a port for the Ethernet, HDMI, and for the mini-display. There is a
4-1 card reader slot. The size is 12.03 x
8.21 x0.80 inches. It weighs 3.18 pounds
The Lenovo Thinkpad
x260 has a beautiful design. It’s framework is colored pure black and is well
marked by the red trackpoint nub on the keyboard. There are status lights on
the lid and the platform. It is made from augmented glass fiber plastic. This laptop
is a real workhorse, having passed the MIL – Spec 810 strength tests . This
tests examines the temperatures shock and vibrations. With the size and weight
of this laptop, it is so handy to carry around. It can fit in small tables. The
Thinkpad x260 has three different screen options: the basic 1366 x 768, a 1366 x 768 with an IPS for more vibrant
colors and the 1920 x1080. The 1336 x 768 entry level is blunt. If I were the
buyer, I would go for the 1920 x 1080 screen model. The colors will be brighter
and the cost difference is only $150. The Keyboard is very pleasant to use. It has
keys that are well- spaced out. Because
of the way the keys are designed, hitting the keys are easier and you do make
less mistakes. Just like other ThinkPads, the x260 has the same track pointing
stick and buttonless touchpad. Both of them are very useful.
The Lenovo Thinkpad
x260 has several ports located on the left side; an HDMI, a mini display port,
2 USB 3.0 ports, a non - mandatory Smart card reader. The right side has the
Ethernet port, SD card reader, an audio jack and another USB 3.0 port. The 720p
webcam needs to be improved but the images are acceptable. For security purposes
it has an TPM encryption, if you acquire a Core i5-6300U or the top of the line
model, it will come with a vPro that is useful for remote management. Add
another $20 and you will have a fingerprint reader. You will have to swipe the
digits instead of pressing it. The Intel Core i5 -6300U processor, 8GB of RAM
and 256 SSD has the capability to do a lot of intense work and multitasking.
The Battery life is good for about 14 hours. There is no need to bring your
charger with you if you are working outside your house. The basic model that
uses a core i3 will cost $765. The Core i5 model talked about here will cost
$1160. This is a good laptop for business people who are always on the go. As I have always said, buy the laptop that
fits your needs.
