What Is IoT and How Will It Enhance Businesses

Everyone must have heard the word Internet of Things by now, but do you know what it really means. IoT stands for the connection of devices ( other than your standard computers, smartphones, laptops and tablets ) to the Internet.  Cars, business equipment, kitchen appliances , tracking devices that can all be connected through the Internet of Things. In the next few years to come more devices will be on that list. It is also defined as the interconnection thru the Internet of computing devices embedded in everyday objects enabling them to send and receive data. You can control such things like your smart TV, refrigerator and air condition thru your tablet, smartphones and computers. IoT is all about sensors.

Here are several advantages:

1. Everything will be easy to find – No more need for barcodes when you are doing your inventory management.  All of your devices, equipment and even products will all be united into the same network. You can now update numbers any time you want. You will have the capability to look into those benchmarks at any moment.

2. Make Your business operations better -  As I said IoT is all about sensors. These really tiny inventions can be attached to anything , that means even your coffee cup and  to your devices in the office. It will record and send data back into the cloud. You’ll have more feed back on how your products and equipment are being used.
3. Your company can make better products  - We now have smartphones that can do so much than an ordinary cell phone. Expect much more from the Internet of Things. Everything has started to evolve with the entry of smart watches. Expect a lot of things to happen, you may have smart yoga mats or even a smart badminton racket. You might think it’s weird but it’s going to happen whether you like it or not. The thing is that businesses will have the opportunity to create better and smarter products that consumers can be connected to.

4. Services will be automated  - If you are in the cargo business or even shipping  business , you can now  place Iot sensors on vehicles  and even packages and it will magnify visibility of your supply chains. This will definitely improve your transport operations especially if you have cargo that is high priced. The sensors that have been placed can reveal changes in temperature, light, features and data . It certainly is useful for alleviating risks that are caused by delays and other factors.

5. Huge amount of data - Sensors that have been placed as components of IoT devices  and it can create data that can be stocked and then analyzed as a portion of existing analytics. It will develop new kinds of findings. Any program including distribution, edible materials, shopping can send previously unavailable data information about temperature, movement, vibration, light and other perceivable conditions across network connections to data storehouses.

What’s New With Huawei

Huawei has launched Kirin 970 chipset with Artificial Intelligence Capabilities. It comes with a dedicated neural processing unit, an 8 core CPU and a 12 core GPU. Included with it is 5.5 million transistors. Huawei has called this the future of smartphones. Since they have come out with this, they have beaten both Samsung and Apple  because they are the first to release a chi set with Artificial Intelligence. It has always been a race among this three giant Smartphone Companies. I hope that it just works out fine.

What is Artificial Intelligence? It is a branch of computer science dealing with the simulation of intelligent behavior in computers. It has the capability to imitate human behavior. Now we have a computer system that is able to perform task that normally require human intelligence. It could do such things such as virtual perception, speech recognition, decision making and translation between languages.  If this is the case a lot of people would like to get their hands on this smartphone. Artificial Intelligence will create heavy demands on computing performance energy efficiency and device cloud synergy. When all these demands are met, there will be better intelligence experience. There will be now a lot of fusion abilities across both chipsets and the cloud. According to Sao Yang , President of Strategy Marketing At Huawei Consumer Group, He said in November 2015 that the intelligence of the superphone will continue to evolve  and develop itself into digital intelligence . It will have the ability to empower us to interact with the world.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group said last Monday that Huawei is committed to developing smart devices into intelligent devices by building end to end capabilities that support coordinated chips, devices by building end to end capabilities that support coordinated development of chip, devices and the cloud. The company has claimed that this chipset can process 2,000 images per minute which is faster than any chipset in the market today. Media reports have been saying that the upcoming Huawei smartphones Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro’will house the Kirin 970 chipset and it is expected to have 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. It is said to be powered by 4,000mAh battery and would run Android Nougat OS.

What Is Cloud Computing and How Does It Work.

Cloud Computing is a method using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store and process data. It does not use a local server or the hard drive on your computer. The cloud is a metaphor or what we call a symbol. It is an implied comparison of what areal cloud does.  It makes data accessing mechanisms more productive, effective and reliable. It depends mostly on the sharing of resources to make it more rational. The nice thing about cloud computing is that it allows companies and individuals to use and utilize a computed resource like a virtual machine, storage or an application. It is like consuming any utility like electricity. Using cloud means that you don’t need to build any kind of infrastructure in your house. This is quite costly.
You may not know it but you yourself might be using cloud computing services already. It is possible you are using cloud computing because you are using online services like sending emails , editing documents, watching your favorite show whether TV or movies. You may be even be listening to music, storing pictures, files and even playing games. Cloud Computing can make this possible because it can be working behind the scenes. Companies that are just starting and those that have been there for quite a time have been using Cloud Computing.  There are so many things that Cloud computing can accomplish.

Here are several things that it can do:

1. Keep data, back it up and recover data.
2. Useful for streaming audio and video.
3. It can be a source to host websites and blogs.
4.  It can bring and deliver software on demand.
   Kinds of Cloud Computing services:

1. SaaS - It allows users to interact with software that is hosted on the cloud and not on the platform or in the infrastructure it is running on.
2. PaaS - It allows users to position and develop applications.
3. IaaS - It is the infrastructure that runs and powers the cloud.
Using these three kinds of services  can help companies save on time and cash in positioning, maintaining hardware and software. They keep users connected and work is done in a collective manner.

Here are the Different Kinds of Cloud Deployment:

1. Hybrid Cloud - It is composed of two or more different cloud infrastractures. It can be  private, community or public. They are unique entities but they are tied together by standardized or proprietary  technology that allows data and application portability.
3 Private Cloud -This cloud infrastructure is for the exclusive use of a single company or organization. It can be managed by one entity, third party or both of them. It can function on or off premises.
3. Community Cloud  - The cloud  infrastructure is for the exclusive use of a particular community of consumers  from organizations that have common concerns. It  can be owned managed, and operated by one or more of the organizations that comprises the community. It can function on or off premises.
4. Public Cloud  - This cloud infrastructure caters to the general public. It can be owned, managed and operated by business, government organization or a combination of both. It functions on the premises of the cloud provider.

Cloud computing services all work in a different way and it all depends on the provider. Most of them  provide a friendly based dashboard. This way, it makes it easier for IT professionals and developers to order resources plus manage their accounts. There are some Cloud computing services that have been designed to work with REST API’s  ( based  on Representational Transfer Technology ). It is an architectural style and approach to communications f ten used in web services. It also works with a command-line interface ( CLI ) giving developers a lot of options.
