HP ELite x2
HP Elite x2 has set
the bar for detachable notebooks. It is really good looking and slim. The specs
and other things mentioned here is the mid – level Elite x2. This is an elegant
hybrid that has a real classy design. The specs are quite strong and it has
fantastic security features that can be used by companies and individuals. The battery
does not have long battery life. I strongly believe that this hybrid would have
been better if there were more hours on it’s battery life. The Elite x2 is
really a high quality 2 in 1 notebook. The brushed aluminum logo is really nice
to look at with it’s aluminum body. It
symmetrical sloping surface at the corners of this hybrid‘s metal side makes it
feel strong. In order to release it’s kickstand, The HP Elite x2 has an
ordinary cut out so you can just simply pull out the stand instead of a push button release. This makes things
easier. This hybrid measures 11.8 x 8.4 x 0.5 inches and it weighs 2.65 pounds.
The HP Elite x2
has a fleet of security features, a rear mounted finger print reader and support
for it’s vPro attributes. TPM chips, self- encrypting SSDs and it even has a
self-healing BIOS that instantly cleans up the backup when it is invaded by a
virus. The keyboard is so pleasant to use. It is better to type on a flat
surface. When you are typing on your lap, there is a propensity for the hybrid
to move around. The touchpad is a good to use because it is spacious. There is
no problem when you scroll around. If you need to draw a lot because of your
work, this notebook comes with a pen that has 3 replacement nibs. This will be
good for you. Although the display is not good looking, still this hybrid’s 12
inch 1920 x 1080 display gives you a good image. It has 315 nits of brightness
and this is above the average of 302 nits. The Delta-E test gave it a color
score of 0.7. This is good because it is close to 0. This system has 1 type A
USB 3.0 port and one 1 USB Type-C port with a thunderbolt 3. This is great because
this can connect all of it’s components. It has also a built in microSD card
slot and it gives you a bit of more storage. The Elite x2 gives you the option
of having an optional 4GLTE or WWAN modems. This hybrid has 2 cameras, a rear
camera with 5 megapixels and 2 front cameras that gives you average photos. The
audio is equipped with Bang & Olufsen speakers . The sound is just right
but not as solid that It should be.
The Intel Core m5
processor produces enough speed to get work done. You can play your video’s, do
certain work like multiple spreadsheets and it will not affect the performance
of your laptop. In the Geekbench 3 rating system, the Elite x2 had a score of
5769 which is above standard. The graphics is also good since it scored 780 on
the Fire Strike Graphics test. You can do a little bit of photo and video
editing. I would not advice anyone to play games on this notebook. The Elite x2
has battery power for at least 6 hours. It’s better for the user to bring the
charger if he is doing a lot of work outside his home. The Elite x2 comes in 3
different models. The first one is an Intel m3 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB
SSD costing $899. The one mentioned above comes with a Core M5 processor, 8 GB
of RAM and a 256GB SSD costing $1350. The fully loaded Elite x2 comes with a
Core m7 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. If this laptop is meant for you
then take your pick among the 3 models. I personally like the middle level
Elite x2. That’s only my personal choice.
Pick the one that suits your needs.
If this is the hybrid that you want, I am sure that you will be happy.
