Toshiba Portege Z30-C

The Top of the line Z30–C  is a high end business notebook. The model mentioned here cost $2252. This is a notebook that came out in 2014 and maybe you can get this at a bargain right now. The Toshiba Portege Z30-C has many features that everyone needs to have for  a topnotch business notebook. It has many security and productivity components. Some of these are a docking port, LTE modem and TPM. It looks almost the same as the Z30-B. Here are the configurations for the high end model.  The processor is an Intel Core i7-6500U  2.5,GHz ( Intel Core i7 ). It has a memory of 16384 MB, DDR3L 2 x 8GB of RAM. This particular high end level notebook l has a 13.3 inch, 1920x1080 pixel, 166PPI, TO508F, IPS. The mainboard is an Intel Broadwell-U PCH-LP ( Premium ). For storage purpose it uses the Toshiba HG6, THNJ512G8NY, 512GB. The soundcard is an Intel Skylake-U/y- high definition audio. For connectivity purposes it comes with  these ports USB 3.0 and/3.1 Gen 1,  1 VGA, 1 HDMI, 1 Kensington lock, 1 docking station port, audio connections 3.5 mm. It has card reader, SD SDHC SDXC, MMC, a smart card port. and a port that is used for the Toshiba Hi-Speed Replicator lll. The Toshiba Portege Z30-C comes with an Intel Ethernet connection 1219-V, Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 ( a/b/g/n/ac ) WI-FI and a Bluetooth 4.0 LE,  LTE. It’ size is 0.7 x 12.44  x  8.94 inches. It uses a 52 Wh lithium-ion battery and the manufacturer says it runs for 11.hours. Since this is a 2014 notebook it uses a Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit Operating System. Any user can upgrade it to Windows 10. The camera is a webcam 2.0 MP FHD webcam. The weight of this notebook is 2.69 pounds.
he Toshiba Z30-C has a dull finish and it does not look attractive. Who cares about how it looks. I am more concerned on how it performs. It looks like plastic but the framework is actually magnesium alloy. Weighing only 2.69 pounds is excellent. It beats it’s rivals in this department. It contains all the necessities that a business notebook should have. Included here is an LTE modem. It still maintains the old VGA dSub and on the underside you can spot the port that is used for the Toshiba Hi-Speed Replicator lll. The keys on the keyboard are soft when you touch it. This gives you a pleasant typing experience. It has a TrackPoint and a ClickPad. It also has a mini joystick above it. You can use them so easily because they are both evenly flat. The Toshiba Portege Z30-C has a Full HD IPS Screen that is rather bright. It does not have sensor that could have brighten it up more a bIt. It did pass the Delta-E test for Display with a score of 280 better than some of it’s competitors. The Toshiba Z30-C Portege Is quite fast and this is all because of it’s SSD. The Graphics Card on this notebook is really good because it registered a score of 1559 points in the 3DMark 11 test, much better than it’s rivals. There is a bit of noise when the 2 cooling fans are turned on. It does not bother me, but as for others it can be a bit irritating. I am just stating facts here. I hope next time Toshiba can improve on this.
The Toshiba Portege Z30-C does not heat up like some of it’s competitors. Of course, just like any notebook, it needs time to rest. The speakers in this notebook are just right. The sounds are a bit thin but it is not annoying. It’s loud enough to be heard. The power consumption is just within the average level and I can say that this is quite good. The manufacturer said that it has a battery life of 11 hours. Ask anybody who has used this notebook and they would say it’s not true. The runtime for this battery is 6 hours.  As for me if this notebook suits your need, then go for it.
