Acer Aspire E15
Choosing a laptop
that will fit your needs and budget is not so easy. Most laptops are 13 inches.
The Acer Aspire E15 is worth looking at. It’s 2017 now and
maybe you can get it at a bargain of $350. It
has a number pad and a touch screen. In
order to have many facets, it had to make some sacrifices. For the price there
may be problems that you would have to live with. The trackpad is below
standard. It has a trackpad that is large and you can make mistakes when
clicking on it. The keys on the keyboard are just right that can give you no
trouble when you are typing. It’s good if you are doing spreadsheets. It takes
a little time to learn because the keyboard is on the left side in order to accommodate
the number pad. That does not pose a major problem for me. There is a USB 3.0 port
and 2 USB 2.0 ports and these are good because you can attach cables on either
side. It has an HD resolution Display
but it still lacks more pixels unlike other laptops on the market. If you are
just looking at photos and videos .it’’s performance is good enough. It does not have a DVD drive. You would have
to get an external DVD drive or buy the E5 by adding $160. The E5 might have a
DVD drive but it’s battery will last for 3 hours only and the Acer Aspire E15 does last for 5 hours.
These are the following specifications of the
$470 Acer Aspire E15. The CPU comes with a 1.9 Ghz Intel Core 13-4030U ( 3MB )
cache. It has an Intel HD Graphics 4400. The RAM is 4GBDDR3L RAM. It has a 15.6
inch screen, a 1336 x 768 glossy active matrix TFT Color LCD Multi-touch
screen. The Acer Aspire E15 come with a 500GB storage ( 5400 rpm with a 16GB
SSD cache ). It has several ports: HDMI, 2 USB 2.0, 1 USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet,
SD card reader and a dual headphone /microphone jack. It ‘s connectivity has a
802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.0. The Acer Aspire E15 has a HD Webcam and
it’s size is 15 x 10.1 x 1.2 inches.
For a budget laptop
computer it performed quite well in the bench mark tests. In the 3D Mark graphic
test Cloud Gate it scored 3,595 points; 2,234 in the skydiver test and 477points
in the Fire Strike test. The processor in the Cinebench tests scored 191 points
and 19.06 in the fps graphics test. In the test that was made for home and
office users, take note that the PCMARK 8 HOME benchmark score was 1987 points.
As for Businesses, They should take note of the strong PCMARK Home score plus
it did well in video chats and had a balanced frame rate. All this tests was
above the average. For the price and if you are on a budget, this laptop is
good enough.
