Lenovo Thinkpad T460
There is something
about the Lenovo Thinkpad T460 that makes it stand out. First of all this is a
workhorse, it can do a lot of things with a lot of ease. For business purposes,
it is a must for a laptop to have long battery life, a keyboard that is
comfortable to use, a precise touchpad, a sturdy body and a powerful
performance. What is described here is
the Core i5 Thinkpad T460. The specs of this laptop consist of a 2.5GHz Intel
Core 15-6300, a Windows 10 Operating System, 16 GB of RAM that can be to 322 GB
and 256GB Hard Drive. Weighing 4. 2 pounds ( which includes the battery ) and a 13. 4 x 9.2 0.83 measurement, it is not
the slimmest of laptops nor is it the lightest anyone can find. The thinkpad T460
was well designed because it gives enough space for it’s battery. The Lenovo
Thinkpad T460 is so beautiful to look at. The matte black body is enhanced by
the silver logo color red status lights on the lid and in it’s flat surface. It
has a red track point on the keyboard. It has been augmented by a glass fiber plastic chassis that
makes it strong for handling utmost temperatures, shock and vibrations. One thing nice about this laptop is that it
comes with vPro capable processor options and a very reliable platform module. The Lenovo Thinkpad T460 also has built in
security measures which is needed for business laptops. It has a fingerprint reader and a swipe
reader
The Thinkpad T460
has a spill resistant keyboard and typing feels really good. The T460 has a TrackPoint pointing stick and
it is located between the G and H keys. The red nub gives you precise
navigation. There is also the touchpad that you can use if you are not
accustomed to the pointing stick. The touchpad measures 2.9 x 3.9 inches. The
Thinkpad T460’s 14 inch 1920 x 1080 touch screen gives out clear images but the
colors are not that vibrant. The touch screen is not glossy and this is good because
it removes a bit of glare. Lenovo uses the
“in-cell touch “ technology, which constructs the touch screen digitalizer straight
into the LCD panel and removes the need for a protective layer. The touchscreen
has a maximum of 239 nits while the non-touch screen reaches 242 nits. This is
good enough. The speakers that are located at the bottom are very useful for
video conferencing and if you are watching videos. It doesn’t perform well when
you are playing music. It uses the Dolby audio software. On the right side you
can spot a 3.5mm jack, an SD card reader, a SIM card slot, a USB 3 port,
Ethernet, HDMI and a Kensington slot. The left side has a mini Display Port, an
optional SmartCard reader and an additional 2 USB ports. The 720p webcam takes
clear pictures and full of colors.
The Intel i5-6300U
processor, 16GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and a 6 cell battery can do a lot of work
like intensive multitasking other sensitive jobs. It costs $1630. The Lenovo
Thinkpad T460 scored a very good 6,708 on the Geekbench rating. It is a system
that measures overall performance. The ThinkPad 460 remains cool at 84 degrees.
It is below the standard 95 degree
benchmark and that is so good. You have an option whether to get the 3 cell or
6 cell battery. The 3 cell battery when used in full mode for the non-touch
screen an only last for 8 hours and the touch screen will last for 6 hours. With
the 6 cell battery and using the non-touch screen, the battery lasted for more
than 16 hours. With the touch screen also in full mode, the battery life is about
13 hours. The base model cost $810, it comes with a non-touch 1366 x 768
display, Intel iCore 6100U processor, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive. For an additional of $10 you can have 6 cell
battery. You must pick the mode that
fits your needs.
